Dear General Electric - An open letter

It has come to my attention that many of the dryers in your staff may be stealing my socks. I don’t mean to cause any problems within the organization or point fingers. I’m thrilled with the services that I’ve been receiving. It’s just something I think you should be aware of.

This evening when I was taking some clothes out and folding them I noticed that I was only returned on of my black Under Armour socks. Normally, I wouldn’t have noticed if they were my old white “no shows”. They’re older and have those tiny little balls down near the toes. They’re not that comfortable anymore, but my black Under Armour ones still feel really good. I would like them back, please.

This isn’t the first time that I’ve had a missing sock from a dryer, but I really liked these.

Thank You,
Joe Dannelly

They Live By Night - “Catching Up”

I think it’s incredible how a video can tell a story. I think it’s even more incredible when you take a four second clip, record it with a camera that can record a thousand frames per second, and play it back over three and a half minutes.

I think it’s pretty brilliant how your mind travels trying to come up with a reason for what’s happening in front of you. I think it’s even more brilliant how during that three and a half minutes my “story” changed a couple of times.

Either way, awesome concept. Now someone tell that jerk to watch out for the girl with the hula-hoop.

They don’t make ‘em like they used to.

A Society In Decline Project: Intrastate Commerce

So I’m not ashamed to admit it. I’ve got a big ole stinkin crush on hand painted signs. It’s embarrassing really. A classic, hand-crafted, vintage piece of wall art can wipe the words right off my tongue mid sentence. The hardest part is trying to explain why you’re staring blankly at an ad with a bit of drool on the side of your mouth. Oh please. Like I’m the only one!

Anyways. Some how I stumbled across a whole flicker gallery of ‘em. Like a kid in a candy store, I was!

I sure wish that’s how we still did things. An artist with a brush, a ladder, some metal, and neon. Top it off with some rust! That’s real design!
